BetterShredders is a document destruction service run by the students in the  Transition Program. For a reasonable fee, the students can shred your unwanted documents and materials. If you have items that need to be destroyed, please call Alison or Eileen at

Personnel Information

IMRF Employees -   This is the open enrollment period for the NCPERS Voluntary Life Plan.  The open enrollment materials and instructions have been  e-mailed to all employees.  The deadline to enroll is November 30, 2011.  If you have any questions, please contact Dorothy Keppler at 708-342-5333.

Insurance Waivers – Employees not electing medical and dental insurance for the entire school year can fill out an insurance waiver form during the month of August. The form is available on our website. Please return the form to the Business Office. The Insurance Waiver Reimbursement will be included in the last paycheck in May.

The month of August is the Open Enrollment period for our health and dental insurance. If you want to change, enroll or cancel your insurance coverage, the paperwork must be submitted to the Business Office by August 31st. The insurance rates are posted on our website and will be updated each July.

Summer Payout Forms are available on the website. The completed and signed Summer Payout Form must be received in the Business Office by May 31st in order to be processed.

All Released Employees will automatically be paid out on June 15th.  In addition, upon receipt of an employee’s Resignation, that employee will also be paid out in the first possible paycheck following the resignation. All normal deductions including health/dental insurance if applicable will be deducted. Insurance coverage will continue through August 31st as long as the employee has completed the school year.

Reimbursement Checks
will be included with the last pay advice of the month. Checks are good for 90 days from issuance. 

MetLife Dental Insurance – Our group number is 303341 and your social security number is your ID number.  Information is available on the website at www.metlife.com (type in EBC at the company name prompt).  The benefit summary sheet is also on our website.

Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO and HMO benefit summary sheets are available on our website.

Be sure to update the information listed below, especially if you have had a major life change:

  • Life Insurance

  • TRS and IMRF Beneficiaries

  • Change of Name and/or Address

 Be sure to keep TRS and IMRF informed of these changes!
