Southwest Cook County Cooperative Association for Special Education (SWCCCASE) recognizes the importance of making its websites as accessible to as many users as possible. We strive to support full inclusion for visitors with disabilities and are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so, adhere to many of the available standards and guidelines. Accessibility is a part of SWCCCASE's commitment to providing open and welcoming spaces for individuals with disabilities.
This website endeavors to conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0.
These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible and the Cooperative is working to train our content editors so that the content they may post on the SWCCCASE website will be compliant with the guidelines and be accessible to all visitors.
This site has been built using code compliant with W3C standards for HTML and CSS. The site displays correctly in current browsers and using standards compliant HTML/CSS code means any future browsers will also display it correctly.
SWCCCASE strives to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability as comprehensively as possible on this website. We continuously work with our content management system provider (Finalsite) to maintain compliance.
Portable Document Format (PDF)
Most documents on the SWCCCASE website are produced in Portable Document Format (PDF). In order to improve viewing these files, please download the latest version of Adobe Reader, which is available for free at the Adobe website. Alternative accessible formats also are provided, where possible, most commonly through a text or an HTML file.

Cooperative Web Accessibility
Southwest Cooperative recognizes the importance of ensuring accessibility of its website for students, prospective students, employees, and the Cooperative's guests with disabilities.
Some of the pages on the Cooperative website contain links to third-party sites. SWCCCASE is not responsible for the Online Content or accessibility of third-party sites, which do not relate to the Cooperative's programs, services and activities. The Cooperative makes no assurances regarding the accessibility of any Online Content that is posted, hosted or offered on the Cooperative's website by an individual or entity outside of the control of the Cooperative. The Cooperative will take all steps reasonably calculated to prevent an individual or entity outside the control of the Cooperative from posting on the Cooperative’s website, and agrees to promptly remove any inaccessible Online Content once the Cooperative becomes aware of such content. SWCCCASE will conduct frequent checks to identify any Online Content posted on the Cooperative's website that is not accessible.
Online Content developed by, maintained by or offered through a third-party vendor or by using open sources, which is related to the Cooperative's programs, services and activities will be made accessible in regards to the Cooperative's Section 504 and Title II legal obligations, except where doing so would impose a fundamental alteration or undue financial and administrative burden.
SWCCCASE, through its Website Accessibility Coordinators, will take the following steps to ensure accessibility of Online Content provided by third-parties which relate to Cooperative programs, services and activities:
The Cooperative, in providing equally effective alternate access, shall take any actions that do not result in a fundamental alteration or undue financial and administrative burdens, but nevertheless ensure that, to the maximum extent possible, individuals with disabilities receive the same benefits and services as their non-disabled peers. In those circumstances where the Cooperative's Web Accessibility Coordinators believe that the proposed action would fundamentally alter the service, program, or activity would result in undue financial and administrative burdens, the Cooperative has the burden of proving that compliance would result in such alteration or burdens. The decision that compliance would result in such alteration or burdens must be made by the Superintendent or his or her designee after considering all resources available for use in the funding and operation of the service, program or activity and must be accompanied by a written statement of the reasons reaching that conclusion.
If an action would result in such an alteration or such burdens, the Cooperative shall take any other action that would not result in such an alteration or such burdens but would nevertheless ensure that, to the maximum extent possible, individuals with disabilities receive the benefits and services provided by the Cooperative.
Report of Accessibility Issues
If any individual has difficulty accessing the information on any page of the Cooperative's website, they are encouraged to contact the Cooperative's Web Accessibility Coordinator and advise accordingly. Upon notification, the Cooperative will provide the requested information in an alternate format and, as soon as reasonably practical, make the necessary improvements to make the information accessible online.
