Welcome to the Transition Program!
My name is Kara Hallgren and I have been a staff member at the SWCCCASE Transition Program since January 2016. This will be my fourth year teaching at the SWCCCASE Transition Program. In 2014, I graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Special Education.
I am the Functional Academics teacher for our Pod North students. Students focus on various functional skills to help them become successful in the workplace, community and classroom. Skills that students focus on during functional academics include: calendar skills, money math skills, time skills, reading skills, community skills, personal information and more. Students focus on enhancing positive behaviors by being respectful, responsible and safe.
Open communication allows us to work as a team to best support your child. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
