The SWCCCASE Transition program is pleased to announce that our PBIS Team has been recognized yet again for the past school year! In the midst of a global pandemic, the members of our PBIS Team and subcommittees have continued to make our students a priority and have ensured that they receive the supports needed for school success. Congratulations team on the following achievements!
Students at Transition put their best foot forward as they practiced their interview skills at the Mock Job Fair held today at the Transition building. Staff stood in as recruiters for local and national businesses and gave students a chance to better understand what to expect at a job fair. Teachers worked hard to prepare students for today’s event by reviewing proper attire, updating resumes, and practicing their communication skills.

One of the fundamental elements of our PBIS system is the teaching and reviewing of the school expectations. Every year, at the start of the year and the beginning of the second semester, we celebrate our "Transition Tools" - Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible - with a Kick-Off where students and staff review the expectations through games and activities. This year students played games, had "snowball" fights, sang karaoke, and enjoyed a hot chocolate bar.
Welcome to Semester 2 at SWCCCASE Transition!
January is a very busy time at Transition. While our vocational coordinators are busy coordinating second semester training sites, the staff and students take advantage of this month to spend time in the community, learn from guest speakers, celebrate first semester accomplishments, review the Transition Tools and school expectations, and get back to learning. Some highlights include:
- January 7, 2020 - Mr. Dallas Gordon, the Operations Manager at the Washington Heights Workforce Center spoke to students and staff about job seeking skills
- January 10, 2020 - PBIS Student Kick-off, featuring a review of Transition Tools and fun activities to kick-off the new year complete with a Hot Chocolate Bar
- January 24, 2020 - Students will participate in a variety of educational activities for our Celebrate Diversity Day at Transition.
Don't forget...
Students do not have school on Friday, January 17, 2020 for the Staff Institute Day.
Transition will be closed for both staff and students on Monday, January 20, 2020, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day
